My husband and I are so thankful for Foothills Gymnastics and Cheer Center.
"In early summer 2006, my daughter approached us about finding a gym. My husband and I were unsure at first
because she had already been out of gymnastics for over a year. A growth spurt, coaching changes and a disastrous season left
my daughter with an athlete's worst injury, a broken spirit. After weeks of discussions and prayer, we agreed to search for
a program for our daughter.
We spoke with several gyms in July, 2006. However, within the first 5 minutes of
talking with Kim Patterson, we knew we had found something special. We were impressed during our visit with the family friendly
environment and the positive but firm interaction Coach Heather Lattimer had with her girls. We agreed to bring our daughter,
Emily in the next day.
I knew Emily was nervous before her first practice when she asked me to stay and
watch. She said she was afraid she had lost all of her skills and wondered if her new teammates would like her. All those
fears were quickly forgotten when she was met at the door with "Welcome Emily" posters, introductions and hugs. By the end
of warm-ups, she told me to go home.
Heather started right away rebuilding her strength, skill and most importantly,
her confidence. It was amazing to watch Em regain and polish old skills and learn new ones. Heather's persistence and patience
paid off when Emily was ready to compete by the first meet. She has had a wonderful first year at Foothills Gymnastics. By
the time the SC State Meet rolled around in the spring of 2007, Foothills had taken our little broken gymnast and molded her
into a strong confident State Champion."
